Update after 6 innings

LaHair made a defensive error in the bottom of the fourth. After Reggie Sanders singled off Campillo with one out, LaHair fielded a ground ball and, looking to turn two, fired the ball toward second base … and into center field. Campillo then walked Ryan Shealy to load the bases.
That’s when everything fell apart. Gordon tripled into deep right center, clearing the bases and the Mariners lead along with it. Jason LaRue, up next, smacked a two-run homer on the first pitch he saw. Two pitches. 5-2 deficit. Campillo faced all nine Royals in the inning, allowing four hits and five runs (four earned). Campillo underwent Tommy John surgery in 2005.
The good news, as noted by blog respondent Thomas, is that Washburn looked solid. Thomas says much of the Mariners success this season will hinge on the JW pitchers
