Jimenez injury update

Mike Hargrove wasn’t available to speak to the media this morning — there were meetings galore in the clubhouse, reminded me of my own office — but I do have a piece of news to pass along.
The Mariners are working on confirming this with the trainers , but Cesar Jimenez, a left-handed bullpen hopeful, said he has a “little fracture” in his left elbow. During the morning, the elbow was wrapped heavily in ice.
Jimenez said the Mariners will do another MRI on the elbow in three weeks. At that time, he said, they will determine if surgery is necessary.
This is especially concerning to Jimenez given the way he pitched so far this spring. It’s early, but he tossed two innings, striking out two, allowing no runs and no hits.
“We’ll wait and see what happens,” he said.
