Washburn’s work

Jarrod Washburn turned in another solid outing by a Mariners starter against the Brewers. He threw four innings, striking out two and allowing one run on three hits.
Most of the trouble came in the first inning. Washburn gave up a hit to Rickie Weeks, then J.J. Hardy doubled. The Mariners fell behind 1-0. From there, Washburn was almost perfect. He allowed a double to Weeks and retired every other batter.
Washburn has allowed two runs in nine innings this spring training.
The Mariners are still behind 1-0 in the top of the fifth inning.
