Mariners 1, A’s 0, bottom 1st

Sunny and hot here in Phoenix for our 1:05 p.m. start. Here are today’s lineups:
Seattle Mariners (11-15)
25 Adam Jones, CF
29 Adrian Beltre, 3B
5 Jose Vidro, DH
28 Raul Ibanez, LF
23 Ben Broussard, 1B
4 Jose Lopez, 2B
12 Mike Morse, RF
55 Jamie Burke, C
10 Rey Ordonez, SS
————————-
49 Jake Woods, LHP
Oakland A’s (13-10-1)
————————-
18 Jason Kendall, C
2 Shannon Stewart, LF
31 Mike Piazza, DH
3 Eric Chavez, 3B
33 Nick Swisher, CF
29 Dan Johnson, 1B
14 Mark Ellis, 2B
67 Travis Buck, RF
19 Marco Scutaro, SS
————————-
49 Jason Windsor, RHP
Seattle already has the lead, scoring in the top of the first after Windsor hit Jones with a pitch and Ibanez — whose bat has been on fire all spring — cashed him in with a two-out double to right center.
A big day for Burke as he tries to make the trip north for opening day. The most interesting thing on the pitching front will be to see Arthur Rhodes, who is scheduled to work the seventh inning, pitching for the first time in over a week. Sean White is also supposed to get work.
For the A’s, Swisher is already covering a surprising amount of ground in center, racing to the warning track to haul in a Beltre blast and sprinting over to left center to snag a drive by Vidro.
