First-pitch delayed

Here are today’s lineups, down below. It looks like they’ll try to play, but the game’s official 1:05 (PST) start time has been pushed back indefinitely (UPDATE — now, we’re told, a 2:00 p.m. (PST) start, but the snow just started raging again).
The snow has nearly stopped and they’ve got these pretty amazing blower machines that are being used to melt away the snow on the field with warm water. It is then supposedly drained from the field. Very impressive. The snow is almost all off the field right now. They will play as long as it doesn’t start snowing again. There’s a 30 per cent chance. But it is going to be very cold. The wind chill is already about 15 and the temperature should start falling by the middle innings. But…they have to get this one in, I’m told, because the weather tomorrow night is expected to be even worse.

Note that Yuniesky Betancourt was due to land about 11:40 a.m. (PST) today on a plane from Miami. With the delayed start time, there’s a good chance he’ll make it here and be in the starting lineup. Manager Mike Hargrove has a second lineup made out with Betancourt batting 8th and Lopez 9th. By the way…as I was writing this, the snow returned. Not as heavy as before, but the winds are whipping it up squall-like. Could be a very long day.
