Sexson out at least a game

So, turns out there won’t be any shuffling of Richie Sexson further down in the order, at least for now. Sexson is getting tonight’s game off and might even sit another day or two after that. Mariners manager Mike Hargrove will install Ben Broussard at first base instead — which should make a whole bunch of you happy on this site. Hargrove likes to look in players’ eyes and didn’t like what he saw in Sexson’s last night. So, this is at least a short term solution. Don’t know what it means in the loing run but we’ll have to wait and see.
Sexson at least gets a couple of days to right himself mentally. After that, though, he still has to figure out a way to hit the ball. Yuniesky Betancourt also gets a night off tonight. Willie Bloomquist in at shortstop. Ibanez is out as well, with Jason Ellison taking his place (yes, that wasn’t a misprint, Ellison gets the start). Quite a development. Not much of a lineup tonight, but then again, it wasn’t much of one last night.
