Several athletes who competed in the Beijing Olympics will throw out the first pitch tonight. Eleven, in fact. They are Stephanie Cox of Gig Harbor (soccer gold medal), Hope Solo of Richland (soccer gold medal), Mary Whipple of the UW (rowing gold medal), Erin Cafaro (rowing gold medal), Bryan Volpenheim of Seattle (rowing gold medal), Jill Kintner of Kirkland (BMX cycling bronze medal), Angels IF Matt Brown of Bellevue (baseball bronze medal), Melanie Roach of Bonney Lake (weightlifting), Aretha Thurmond of the UW (discus), Portia McGee of Seattle (rowing) and Dr. Susan Nattrass of Vashon Island, who competed for Canada in trapshooting.
