Game on

Bottom 9
J.J. Putz with his 100th career save as the 12-game losing streak is over. M’s win 9-6. Thanks everyone for your comments y buenas noches
Bottom 7
Three-run rally, clutch hitting by Reed, Balentien and Johjima. Looks like the 12-game losing streak will end, and 100 losses is delayed another day. I’m happy for the 19,605 that came out. And many of you. You’d seen more than enough. But it’s not over yet…
Leadoff single for Betancourt off Kevin Jepsen. Bill D.– why lament? The shame of a 100-loss, high-payroll year is upon the Mariners. No getting around it, unless they get on a roll and win out, in which case it is still a majorly disappointing year. They know that. We know that. Betancourt steals second and Ibanez walks, and the Mariners are threatening again.
Top 7
Thank you, Balentienforcer, for the kindness. Just having a little fun out here. Roy Corcoran now pitching for the Mariners.
Bottom 6
Oh man, things are happening so fast I almost forgot to keep up the thread. The Mariners have vanquished thine enemy, er, knocked Richard the Lionhearted aka Weaver out of the game with a four-run rally to tie the score. Clutch hit for Johjima, a two-out, two-run double. Will tonight be 100?
Top 6
Good hustle by Figgins as he speeds over to third on a long fly out to left. One out, runners at the corners for the Halos. I will not call them that anymore tonight. Now there’s a long fly ball to right by Guerrero, plenty deep enough to drive in Figgins from third and credit Figgins with that run. 6-2 Angels.
Bottom 5
The M’s waste that triple as Weaver sets down the next three in order. Ichiro tried to surprise bunt his way on, but Figgins got to the ball fast and made a good throw to get Ichiro by a few steps. Inning over.
A triple for Tui, high off the wall in the left field corner. The crowd actually booed when Tuiasosopo was held up at third base. No way he would have gotten an inside the park homer, unless the cutoff man made the worst throw ever to home. In which case it would have been a triple and an error.
Bottom 4
The cool thing for me right now is that with all these new Mariners playing, you get to here some new player at-bat music. Jeremy Reed has E-40, Sean Paul and Li’l Jon’s “Snap Yo’ Fingers.”
Top 4
WOW, the umps just blew that play. Anderson clearly ran out of the baseline on Guerrero’s grounder to third. Tuiasosopo threw wide for an error and Guerrero is on to load the bases, but how they didn’t call out Anderson for that is beyond me. M’s should be out of the inning.
After a single for Garret Anderson, Feierabend is removed from the game. Now pitching, Sean Green.
Feierabend: 3.2 IP, 7 hits, 5 runs, 3 BB, 3 K.
The 3-1 pitch to Napoli is drilled deep to center, it is high, it is far, it is…GONE!!! A home run. And the Angels lead 5-2. How quickly fortunes can turn.
Leadoff single for Kendrick and now a walk to Matthews Jr. Here come the Angelitos again. Foul ball into the press box, and Brad Adam of FSN can’t make the play.
Bottom 3
Hiyoooooohhh! A little Ed McMahon for ya there. Yuniesky Betancourt’s bloop single drives in a pair to tie the score at 2. This after Ichiro’s double, which extended his current hitting streak to 16 games. And looky there, they got the Hat Trick working right! Maybe 100 losses won’t come tonight.
Bottom 2
The cotton candy vendor below me just made a great foul ball catch with one hand, cotton candy in the other. Then he gave the ball to a kid and drew applause. Nice gesture.
Funny moment just now. You know the Hat Trick they do on the big video board at Safeco, where you have to follow the revolving Mariners caps and pick the one the ball is under? It just froze. Technical glitch. The crowd booed. As if more could go wrong.
Top 2
Feierabend left that pitch way up, and Gary Matthews Jr. just sent it over the CF wall for a 2-run shot. Now three hits in a row off Feierabend as Mike Napoli singles. 2-0 Angels.
Bottom 1
Jered Weaver has medieval hair. Like one of those knights or lords from Middle Ages.
Nice first inning for Feierabend. 2 Ks.
7:09 p.m. first pitch, 58 degrees.
The theme from “Entourage,” the HBO show, was just played. Good way to start things off. Greatest show on cable as far I’m concerned. Who’s better than Turtle and Johnny Drama and Ari the superagent?
