Final words

Mariners drop to 4-2-1. Five relievers gave up runs, including Mark Lowe. Wakamatsu showed reporters a notebook after the game in which he wrote down five postive things from the loss. Here’s what the manager said.
1. “Aardsma was good” – 1 IP, 1 K.
2. “Gutierrez swung the bat good” – 1 for 3.
3. “Yuni made a nice backhand play in the hole.”
4. “LaHair had a couple of nice at-bats” – 1 for 3.
5. “Tui continues to swing the bat good.”
“We threw 175 pitches in eight innings which wasn’t good, but that’s what spring training is for. You get to see what’s good and bad in players.”
OK, my guest spot on the Mariners beat is about over. Appreciate everyone’s time and comments. And now back to my regularly scheduled Sounders FC soccer blog…is cross-promotion OK?
