Mariners win in 10

A wild throw to first base by pitcher Scot Shields in the 10th on a Yuniesky Betancourt bunt enabled Franklin Gutierrez to score from second and give the Mariners a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels.
Gutierrez had led the inning off with a double to center field and helped make a winner out of reliever Roy Corcoran.
In the top of the ninth, Gutierrez had raced back to the wall to make a nice catch in center field. Brandon Morrow then yielded a bloop single to Erick Aybar and walked Chone Figgins on four pitches to put two men on with two out.
But Morrow then reared back, jumped ahead 1-2 on Howie Kendrick, then got him to hit a soft grounder to second for the force out to end the threat.
