Seattle Mariners bullpen has a different look as Roy Corcoran on DL

Don’t know whether or not you caught our story in today’s paper about Brandon Morrow and that electronic book reader he uses. Anyhow, Morrow was kind enough to pose for some photographs just to show us how it might look when he uses the reader. And so you could see what the device actually looks like.
Anyhow, we’ve all heard by now that Roy Corcoran is on the DL with a stiff neck. Jason Vargas comes up from Class AAA in his place. We discussed this on the blog yesterday, how some relief pitchers had not been getting the job done and were likely to not be permitted to do so much longer once suitable replacements were found. Let’s hope Corcoran can get past his injury woes, but it’s clear the M’s had seen enough.

That’s one thing I didn’t mention yesterday. How the M’s had actually used their bullpen a lot more than many of us thought they would — at least in high leverage situations — when spring training was ending. Considering all the concerns many of us had coming out of camp, I’d say they’ve gotten through it pretty well up to now. But now, some adjustments will have to be made to ensure longer term success. We’ve just seen the first one.
