Bottom 4, scoreless

Not much in the way of offense on this day … both pitchers have retired nine straight, Vicente Padilla to start the game. Bedard has four strikeouts, his last one a wicked fastball outside to Hank Blalock.
Turning out to be an OK afternoon weather-wise, although it was just 50 degrees with 14-mile winds to start. There have been periodic splashes of sunshine.
