Good all-around baseball leads Mariners to 5-2 win over Angels

The Rally Monkey tried, but nothing was going to stop the M’s tonight. it took a month and fouir days, but the Mariners finally nailed down consecutive wins.
This was one of the better all-around games we’ve seen in some time by the Mariners. They executed a key hit-and-run to set up that three-run third inning that really was the difference in this game.

It helped Jason Vargas attack the strike zone aggressively and Sean White was there to bail him out when he needed it in the seventh. Jose Lopez came through with that home run to finish off John Lackey and closer David Aardsma nailed down a 5-2 win over the Angels, striking out Mike Napoli in the photo above to end the game.
Got a nice catch in the ninth from Ichiro, who, yes extended his hitting streak to 22 games.
