Seattle Mariners rout Rays, take series win

Miguel Batista, in the photo above, accepts congratulations after fanning Gregg Zaun to end today’s contest.
This game went a lot easier than it looked like it might after the first couple of innings. But the Mariners got their bats going against Scott Kazmir and Ryan Rowland-Smith eventually settled down.
The result was a rather simole 11-2 trouncing of the visitors. That gives the Mariners back-to-back series wins and a 4-2 record since that debacle in Texas last weekend.
They beat a pretty good Rays team here, too. The Mariners continue to play competitive baseball.
Rowland-Smith going 6 2/3 innings here today helps the bullpen a lot as well.,
This has to become more commonplace by guys other than Felix Hernnadez.
