Branyan moved up to second

Mariners manager Don Wakamatsu has moved first baseman Russell Branyan back to the second spot in the lineup, a move Wakamatsu said was prompted by the injuries to Adrian Beltre and Jack Wilson.
“With Adrian and Jack out, I’m kind of going back to the theory we can have Russell hit a home run for us and put us on the board, and give him an extra at-bat, so just changing it up.”
Franklin Gutierrez moves from second to fifth in the order. Wakamatsu had moved Gutierrez up to second and Branyan back to fifth to provide more depth in the lineup.
Other notes:
-Outfielder Michael Saunders is still out with a sore right shoulder but could return Tuesday.
-Jack Wilson, recovering from a hamstring injury, will likely be available again Tuesday or Wednesday.
-Wakamatsu said pitcher Carlos Silva “came out of yesterday’s bullpen well.” Silva threw close to 40 pitches, and will throw one or two more bullpen sessions before moving up to a simulated game. “I think it’s important for him to get back throwing this year,” Wakamatsu said.
