Mariners lean towards Morrow pitching Class AAA playoff game

Just got off the phone with GM Jack Zduriencik, who told me the Mariners are leaning heavily towards allowing Brandon Morrow to pitch in a Class AAA playoff game at Sacramento this coming Friday. No final decision has been made.
“At this point, I’d say we’re leaning heavily towards going in that direction,” Zduriencik said. “I haven’t talked to (manager) Don (Wakamatsu) about it yet. We’ll discuss it and go over the positives and negatives. But at this point, I think it would be good to have him experience that type of thing in a playoff setting.”
Wakamatsu had said on Sunday that Morrow would be up with the M’s to pitch in the Texas series this week. The pitcher he was to replace had not been decided upon. Speculation was leaning heavily towards Luke French, but the team also wanted to keep an eye on that blister on the throwing hand of Doug Fister.
Speaking of the minors, congrats to Clinton LumberKings right hander Ken Kasparek, who won the Midwest League ERA title at 2.41, easily outdistancing the second best finish of 2.73.
Kasparek, 23, was a 12th rounder out of the University of Texas last year.
