Ichiro named to Sporting News AL all-star team

ichiroyankees.jpg
Hardly a surprise that Ichiro would be the lone Mariners player named to this year’s Sporting News AL all-star team. After all, he was chosen as Mariners MVP and had one of his finest seasons yet.
This is the fourth time in his career that he’s received the honor.
See the complete AL team on the next page.

Joe Mauer, C, Twins
Mark Teixeira, 1B,Yankees
Aaron Hill, 2B, Blue Jays
Evan Longoria, 3B, Rays
Derek Jeter, SS, Yankees
Ichiro Suzuki, OF, Mariners
Jason Bay, OF, Red Sox
Torii Hunter, OF, Angels
Hideki Matsui, DH, Yankees
Zack Greinke, SP, Royals
Mariano Rivera, RP, Yankees
Yes, I can also see that Zack Greinke got the nod over Felix Hernandez.
