View replay of Geoff Baker and Larry Stone Live!: Adrian Beltre sees room cleared for him in Boston

Thanks to everyone who tuned in. The numbers were off the charts!
Larry Stone didn’t join the show until midway through, because he was down monitoring developments on the Adrian Beltre front. It appears Mike Lowell is as good as traded to the Texas Rangers, which now means the Red Sox have a third base vacancy.
Did this just happen in isolation? Nope. Word is, the Red Sox will be looking to add Beltre in coming days. Beltre’s agent, Scott Boras, has a solid working relationship with the Red Sox and I doubt they’d have moved Lowell so quickly if they didn’t have his replacement well in-hand. Looking like that could be Beltre. There’s some good potential for him to send balls flying over the Green Monster at Fenway Park.
For the M’s, of course, that would leave Chone Figgins at third base.
