Bill Hall is the major leaguer going to Red Sox for Casey Kotchman

The Bill Hall era in Seattle sure didn’t last very long. Hall is indeed off to the Boston Red Sox, along with a lesser minor leaguer and cash, in exchange for first baseman Casey Kotchman. Here is why you won’t hear any official announcements on the deal tonight:
1. The Red Sox need to finalize their free agent deal with Adrian Beltre before pulling the trigger on this swap. That means a full physical, paperwork, etc. Once the Beltre deal is in-hand, this ensuing swap will take place.
2. The money going Boston’s way is in excess of $1 million, so the comissioner’s office has to sign off on it.
3. Physicals will have to be taken by the major leaguers involved.
