In-depth look at new Mariners weight room

We’re just getting started here today. The Mariners have a lengthy pre-workout team meeting today dealing with MLB Rule 21, which covers gambling, throwing games, accepting gifts for winning games, etc. It’s a mandatory meeting that all teams have to sit through. Jay Buhner showed up to camp today. Surprised it took him so long. Seems like he usually lives down here. In case you missed it last night, above, we give you a look inside at the new Mariners weight room and a chance to hear from Dr. Marcus Elliott.
“Is that what they call a weight room?” Buhner said. “I just see (bleep) on the wall where you have to stretch this way, and that way.”
Buhner then contorted his body in several awkward-looking positions to mimic the air-compressed Keiser pulley machines.
He was just having a laugh, obviously. And he got a few, as folks tried to imagine him doing new age fitness routines. But then, he stopped and said “In all seriousness, the players love it.”

Thanks again for watching Geoff Baker Live! last night. Our second-highest rated show of the spring, just behind Tuesday’s show. Thousands of you listened in live.
