Angels 4, Mariners 3, 14 innings: Abreu homer sinks Mariners

homer.jpg
Bobby Abreu just hit a one-out home run off Brian Sweeney in the bottom of the 14th inning to win it. The blast to left center cleared the fence by a good distance, finally ending a game that looked like it would take about 90 fewer minutes to play at one point.
Seattle did next to nothing offensively, other than scoring off Fernando Rodney twice in the ninth to tie it. After that, the Angels retired 17 of the next 18.
The only thing keeping it close was Los Angeles stranding 12 runners. But that became academic when Abreu connected.
Game over. Mini-fireworks display, but not quite what some fans had hoped for afterwards.
