Look for Carl Willis, Jaime Navarro to be handling Mariners pitchers this year

The Mariners will announce their coaching staff today, but my sources tell me that Carl Willis (Photo Credit/AP) and Jaime Navarro will be the two guys handling Seattle pitchers this year. Willis, as we’ve been writing for a while, will be the new Mariners pitching coach, while Navarro will replace John Wetteland as bullpen coach.
Navarro worked with several of the team’s young pitchers down at Class AAA Tacoma this past season.
Wetteland was the bullpen coach the last two seasons, brought in by former manager Don Wakamatsu.

The team is expected to make other moves as well. I don’t have any of them confirmed yet, like the two above, but I could see Jeff Datz coming in as the new third base coach, while Leon Durham or Milt Thompson could be the hitting coach. Still working on those, but the Willis and Navarro ones you can take to the bank.
