Video replay of Geoff Baker Live! season debut

Hope you liked our new, improved streaming quality and some of our other introductions, like improved video ands photos. Lost the audio for a bit right at the beginning because I hit the wrong button, but we got it back fairly quickly. Had a great time chatting with all of you. A total of nearly 2,000 people tuned in on a Sunday evening and that’s saying something. Let’s get those numbers soaring up there tomorrow. I’ll bring my “A” game if you bring yours. I’ll have more video and photos tomorrow from the first day of workouts.
Here are some of the highlights from tonight’s show.
There was some early discussion about the bullpen in light of David Aardsma and his rehab from hip surgery. I discussed how some non-roster players might make the bullpen at the expense of younger arms — even if those arms show enough to prove they are ready for the big leagues.
A reader asked me about the team’s payroll flexibility after 2011 and whether there’s reason for optimism. I gave an in-depth answer and included footage of team president Chuck Armstrong describing the payroll status at the baseball winter meetings. So, that’s worth a look. I also played some audio of manager Eric Wedge talking to reporters about how he’d deal with any issues that arose with players. Wedge was asked whether he prefers to deal with things one-on-one or in a group.
A reader asked me about Adam Kennedy and whether I felt his DUI might hurt his chances of making the team. Here’s my take on that and some thoughts about the idea of “second chances” in sport.
Remember, tomorrow’s show runs from 6:30-7:30 p.m. That’s the time we’ll use for the rest of the week.
