View replay of Geoff Baker Live! plus selected highlight clips

Well, that was a fun hour, even though our picture got knocked out two thirds of the way through. Thanks for hanging in there. Hope you’ve enjoyed our new format.
Here are some of the highlights. Right off the bat, we showed you the M’s new spring training uniforms. complete with helpful name tags on the back so we can all identify the new players (and old ones with funny hairdos). Threw in some video of pitchers’ fielding practice and other stuff as well.
We jumped right in and discussed the bullpen session thrown by Erik Bedard and how the team plans to proceed with him this spring.
Eric Wedge compared Michael Pineda to a former major league great after seeing him for the first time today. Find out which player by clicking right here. Speaking of Wedge, he spelled out a few rules for his players prior to today’s workout.
There was also the usual soapox element. One listener asked me whether I felt the Mariners should keep Josh Lueke. I’ve explained my position on this in public before, but here it is one more time. Me offering the suggestion was apparently too much for one viewer, who suggested we “lay off” Lueke. Here’s my response
to that.
Finally, a viewer asked about the role Ted Simmons will play in the team’s front office. Here’s my answer.
Part I of the show is above. And Part II, after we restored the live feed, is down below.
