Erik Bedard to start Charity Game for Mariners on Sunday

The Mariners play their first exhibition game tomorrow, the annual charity affair against the San Diego Padres at Peoria Stadium.
Erik Bedard will take the mound to start things off, followed by Luke French, Manny Delcarmen, Denny Bautista, Justin Miller, Cesar Jimenez, Yusmeiro Petit and Chris Smith.
The last time Bedard faced major league hitters in any type of game? Back on July 25, 2009.

Bedard has since undergone two more shoulder surgeries. He appeared in three minor league rehabilitation games last year before being scratched from a July 6 start against Kansas City that would have been his first of the year.
Since Bedard last faced a major league team, the Mariners have overhauled their entire coaching staff from 2009 — save for bullpen catcher Jason Phillips.
The only starting position players left from the 2009 squad are Ichiro and Franklin Gutierrez.
Felix Hernandez is the only starting pitcher left — besides Bedard — from the opening day rotation of 2009. And the only bullpen member left from the season opener of that year is David Aardsma.
Yes, quite a lot has changed since Bedard last pitched to a major league squad.
