B game update

Here are the details of the Mariners’ “B” game today against the Dodgers in Glendale:

The Mariners beat the Dodgers, 7-1 in today’s 6.0 inning “B” game. For the Dodgers, Hiroki Kuorda went 4.1 innings and allowed three runs on five hits while striking out six. Kuroda was touched for solo homers by Milton Bradley in the fourth and Alex Liddi in the fifth. He threw 64 pitches.
Luis Vasquez tossed a scoreless frame, but allowed two walks and threw two wild pitches.
For the Mariners, Luke French went 2.0 innings and gave up one run on five hits. Medina, Seddon, Smith and Petit all followed in that order with a scoreless inning of work.
Dustin Ackley belted a three-run homer in the sixth to break open the game. Joe Newby gave up four (three earned) in the final frame for the Dodgers.
At the plate, Jerry Sands’ RBI-single plated Justin Sellers for the Dodgers only run. Ackley, Bradley and Liddi all had two hits for the M’s.

For the record, this is not regarded as an official game so it won’t count in the standings and the stats don’t count, either, so Seattle’s six-game homerless streak is still alive heading into the main game against the Giants today.
