Geoff Baker Live! at FX McRory’s

We’ve discussed for a while now about how we were planning to do Geoff Baker Live!, our live webcast/video chat about the Mariners, from a local venue.
Well, we will be doing the show tomorrow, at 6 p.m. PT, from FX McRory’s Steak, Chop & Oyster House, in Pioneer Square, within walking distance from Safeco Field. The plan is to do a pre-game show — the only visual broadcast in Seattle where viewers can ask questions of someone who’s been in the M’s clubhouse and on the field within hours of gametime.
So, whether it’s the visual, audio, or just print-quality coverage you expect, we’ll be there to give it to you in a show that doesn’t pull any punches. That’s what makes us unique. And if you don’t like it, you’re always free to tune in to the other folks. But thousands of you told us what you wanted at spring training, and we’re finally going to carry it over to the regular season, in a pre-game time slot that lets you get home from work to listen live.
I know I’m excited about it.

The choice of FX McRory’s was a natural one for me. As a visiting writer, coming in to Seattle before I used to cover the M’s, that was the place where we’d all gather. They’ve been around since 1977, the date the Mariners were born. It’s the place I’d previously decided to hold our annual Baseball Writers Association of America chapter luncheon. And the place I felt would be a natural fit for the show. A place that wanted us to be there. They’re fans of the show.
And I know that it’s the place many M’s fans hang out at as well.
So, let’s do this. Either come on by and have a look, maybe say hello (not on-air, though), or tune in live here on the blog tomorrow, an hour before gametime.
The plan is to do the show as a pre-game event prior to night time home contests at Safeco Field, on select weekdays.
So, for now, that’s tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Hope you join me. It’s been a great spring and I want it to continue.
