And your new Mariners clean-up hitter tonight is…

ADDITIONAL NOTES 2:07 p.m.: Just chatted with Jack Cust and he assured me he’s not hurt, banged-up, scuffed-up, what have you. As he said, he’s just not getting it done. He and manager Eric Wedge walked off together shortly after I’d spoken to him. So, there you have it. Cust is a healthy scratch.
You guessed it, Adam Kennedy. What, you were expecting Ken Griffey Jr.? Hey, this is 2011, not 2010, though the way the hitting’s been going, who could blame you for mixing up years?
Yes, Kennedy gets the clean-up job tonight as Jack Cust sits. We’ll find out once the clubhouse opens whether Cust is hurting or not.

As for Kennedy, this is his first appearance at the No. 4 spot in the order since Oct. 1, 2006. And it’s only the second time he’ll be doing it.
Chone Figgins is back in the lineup tonight.
