Shawn Kelley back with Mariners but still unlikely to pitch before June 1

Just a reminder that we’ll have Geoff Baker Live! at 6 p.m. from FX McRory’s.
Shawn Kelley rejoined the Mariners from Arizona today, having successfully thrown some bullpen sessions as he recovers from partial Tommy John ligament transplant surgery. Kelley won’t be appearing for the Mariners in any games before at least June 1, but this was an important step for him on the way back.
“I’ve still got three or four bullpens and also some sim games to throw,” he said. “So, obviously, I’m not going to do anything before June 1.”
But the big thing, for now, is that Kelley can at least stick to a normal bullpen-throwing pace.
“Before, it was just based on, if i feel good, then I’ll throw,” he said. “Now, obviously, I’m here.”

Kelley will also be travelling with the Mariners as he prepares to try to go out on some minor league rehabilitaiton stints in May.
In other news, Carlos Peguero is back in the lineup tonight and playing left field. That’s because Milton Bradley was a late scratch with what’s said to be a stomach condition.
“He just wasn’t feeling well,” manager Eric Wedge said.
Wedge said Bradley might be able to enter the game late.
Matt Mangini has been activated by the Mariners off the 15-day disabled list and optioned to Class AAA Tacoma.
