Milton Bradley drops appeal, will serve suspension tonight

Milton Bradley had a change of heart and decided to drop the appeal of his one-game suspension. He will serve it tonight. Manager Eric Wedge said Bradley decided to drop the appeal about an hour ago.
“It was his call,” Wedge said. “I talked to him. I think originally he was going to appeal it, then he decided, ‘Let’s just get it out of the way.’ That’s where the change of heart was.”
The Mariners called the commissioner’s office and got it cleared for Bradley to serve the suspension tonight.
Asked if he was surprised Bradley was suspended, Wedge said, “You just never know. I didn’t see it. I was out there yelling myself. Obviously, that’s their call and their decision to be made.”

Wedge confirmed what I had heard from an MLB source and reported earlier — that Bradley allegedly made contact with umpire Gerry Davis.
“That’s what it was – evidently he made contact, or they said he made contact,” he said.
By the way, I approached Bradley, along with my former Seattle Times colleague Bob Sherwin (working tonight for MLB.com), to get a comment from him on the suspension, and was told, and I quote, “You guys get away from my locker, please.”
Here’s the Mariners’ revised lineup, with Ryan Langerhans replacing Bradley in left, and Adam Kennedy taking his spot in the No. 3 hole:
51 Ichiro Suzuki (L) RF
9 Chone Figgins (S) 3B
4 Adam Kennedy (L) 2B
30 Miguel Olivo C
17 Justin Smoak (S) 1B
29 Jack Cust (L) DH
55 Michael Saunders (L) CF
12 Ryan Langerhans (L) LF
26 Brendan Ryan SS
