Mariners go with similar-looking lineup tonight versus Marlins

Just a reminder that we’ll have Geoff Baker Live! coming up once again at 6:10 p.m. PT tonight from FX McRory’s restaurant. Don’t miss it, or…well, you’ll miss it.
Sorry about the live footage of my drive to Safeco Field. Still working out some quirks with the camera. We’ll try it again tomorrow.
For now, we have tonight’s lineups. Brendan Ryan is back in at the No. 2 spot, with Dustin Ackley hitting fifth once again. In fact, the lineup is identical to last night’s with the exception of Jason Vargas batting ninth instead of Felix Hernandez.
Ackley is hitless in his last two games, but it covered a stretch of only five at-bats so we don’t really pay attention to that just yet. Let’s see how he does tonight against Chris Volstad — who isn’t quite Nolan Ryan.

No Jose Lopez in the lineup for the Marlins. You kind of have to feel for Lopez, who got called up from Class AAA and had manager Edwin Rodriguez proclaim that he’d be getting regular playing time at third.
Two days later, Rodriguez quits. Yup, life ain’t easy for Lopez any more.
Carlos Peguero is back in left field tonight. Everyone forgets, but it was his infield single that kept the seventh inning going last night and turned a tying rally into a winning run. Without the hit, Franklin Gutierrez doesn’t come to bat and get to knock in two runs.
Yes, I know. The M’s are not paying Peguero to notch infield singles. He had trouble getting the ball out of the infield last night. But, he gets another chance tonight.
