Mariners at Minnesota Twins: Sept. 20, 2011 game thread

Jason Vargas takes the mound today, hoping to build off some solid outings his last two times out. This is another important start for Vargas, who has to show the M’s that the added “twist” to his delivery is enough to make him a reliable middle-of-the-rotation guy for next year. If not, he stands to earn $5 million in arbitration, which would be a lot for the fifth-starter type results he’s delivered for much of the second half.
