Mariners at Minnesota Twins: Sept. 21, 2011 game thread

Michael Pineda works the finale of his 2011 rookie season, trying to make it three in a row for the Mariners, stubbornly avoiding the inevitable 90-loss season with eight contests to play starting now.
Justin Smoak makes his first start since that groin strain last week, though he did strike out in a pinch-hit appearance last night. He’s in at DH.
Alex Liddi has earned himself another start at third, while Kyle Seager once again starts at shortstop.
