Source: Mariners deal with George Sherrill just about done

The Mariners should be bringing relief pitcher George Sherrill back into the fold nearly four years after he was traded to the Baltimore Orioles in the Erik Bedard swap.
A source confirmed today that the two sides made ” a lot of progress last night” towards a one-year, incentive-laden package that could be announced early next week after a routine physical. As of today, the sides were finalizing terms of the agreement.
The Mariners have been looking to bring in a left-handed pitcher, something they’ve lacked in the bullpen in recent years outside of long relief types. Mariners GM Jack Zduriencik had also stated he was looking to bring in a veteran arm to offset much of the youth-laden relief corps.
