Felix Hernandez lets fly off a mound at Mariners camp

Felix Hernandez got to unleash his arm a little more this morning in Peoria, as you can see in the video above.
First, he warmed up in the bullpen with battery-mate Miguel Olivo. Then, he went out to the mound to throw some live batting practice.

The hitters weren’t actually swinging at anything, just standing in to track pitches. So, I suppose it’s not really “live” BP. More like the pretend kind.
But Hernandez was still kicking loose for the first time off a mound and it drew quite the crowd of spectators.

Most of the morning so far has been spent watching ground ball drills and assorted pitcher-catcher fundamental workouts. The real fun should begin when hitters start taking swings during BP. We’ll see whether any cars and trucks bear the brunt of it again today.
