Mariners-Rockies game thread, March 18

GAME CALLED — We were summoned to talk to starter Hector Noesi as they were preparing to re-start the game — and while we were in the clubhouse they called the game and everyone came running in.
So the Mariners’ day here is over after what will not count as a game in the standings.
Seattle led 3-2 when the game was called in the top of the fifth. More later.
GAME DELAYED — As of 2:28 p.m. the game is still under delay. I shot some quick video of the storm here as it hit:

GAME DELAYED — Rain now coming down hard here in Peoria and the tarp out and the players coming off the field. Game delay began at 2:26 p.m.

BOTTOM FOUR — The Mariners finally got on the board here in the fourth, which began with Alex Smith the next apparent Seahawks QB and ended with Matt Flynn the new Seahawks QB. The big hit was a 2-run HR to right-center by Kyle Seagar that also like should be prefaced with the term “wind-aided.” After a Peguero walk and a Jaso single, Figgins then lofted one into short left to score Peguero and make it 3-2. Rains near but not yet hear.
TOP FOUR — Rockies got a run on a walk, and two wild pitches — there was a hit after the run scored. So Noesi has allowed two runs on two hits through four innings and the Mariners trail 2-0 going to the bottom of the fourth. We’re also hearing reports of hail and rain not far away so we’ll see what happens here.
BOTTOM THREE — No runs for the M’s, but not for a lack of trying. Mike Wilson led off with a double, and after an out, Figgins singled (a ball up the middle that didn’t get out of the infield). Figgins, though, was then caught stealing before Kawasaki walked, leaving runners at first and third with two outs. Ichiro then hit a hard shot to right Colorado 2B DJ LeMahieu reached for and grabbed for the final out.
TOP THIRD — Another 3 up, 3 down for the Rockies and Noesi, who has retired eight in a row. It remains 1-0 to the bottom of the third.
BOTTOM SECOND — Wells walked, but Seager flied out and then Peguero hit into a 4-6-3 double play. Sun still out, wind still blowing.
TOP SECOND —- Three up, three down for the Rockies, including a nice diving catch by Mike Wilson in right of a liner off the bat of Tyler Colvin.
BOTTOM FIRST — Ichiro got a two-out single but that was it for the M’s. Figgins and Kawasaki grounded out and Carp struck out looking.
TOP FIRST — Eric Young doubled to lead off the game and came around to score on a groundout and a sac fly to put Colorado ahead 1-0. Noesi also allowed a one-out walk, but kept the damage to just a run.
PRE-GAME — Looks like we’re playing, as the sun has actually come out enough that they are watering down the infield. That’s necessary because it’s blowing like crazy, and straight out to left-center field — so this could be an interesting day for fly balls.
