Well, it’s a good thing the Mariners won’t be playing anymore Japanese teams on this trip, having been demolished here for a second straight night.
The final in this one was a well-deserved 9-3 loss to the Yomiuri Giants on a night the Mariners got nothing from starting pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma and just as little from their fielders late in the game.
An American named John Bowker hit a home run off Iwakuma in the second at-bat of the night for the Giants and it was all downhill from there.
Seattle was out-hit 15-5 on the night and outscored 14-4 in two games against Japanese squads.
