Mariners stage furious comeback to stun the Rangers 4-3

For most of this game, it didn’t look like the Mariners would even score. But they took care of that in the eighth inning on a John Jaso triple and a Dustin Ackley single to get the M’s back within a pair.
Then, in the ninth, they went to town on closer Joe Nathan, scoring three more times to pull out a stunning 4-3 victory. The key to the rally was Michael Saunders using his bat and his legs to do damage.
Justin Smoak led off with a single, followed by a Kyle Seager double that put runners on second and third. Jesus Montero hit a sacrifice fly to make it a 3-2 game and move Seager to third base.
Saunders came up from there and stroked a tying single to right center but decided not to settle for that. He turned on the afterburners and barely made it to second in time for a key double.
He didn’t quit there either. Saunders broe for third with Brendan Ryan at the plate and stole that bag as well.
Ryan struck out in the at-bat, but Jaso delivered the go-ahead single and the Mariners were off running to their first win this series.

Brandon League made it interesting in the ninth by yielding a single and uncorking a wild pitch. Byt he rallied with a strikeout and then saw Smoak snare a smash by Elvis Andrus that would have tied the game had it gotten by him.
It did not.
