Felix Hernandez overwhelms the Twins to snap losing streak at seven games

post0505.jpg
Felix Hernandez was dealing tonight and the only chance the Twins had to score was in the fourth inning. That’s when the got their only hit — a single to right by Denard Span — and two walks to load the bases with two out.
But Chris Parmelee flied out to left. After that, the only suspense was whether the M’s could somehow figure out to score. That they finally did on a two-run single in the sixth by Kyle Seager off Jason Marquis.
Five more runs off the Twins bullpen in the seventh capped a 7-0 win.
Seager hit a two-run homer off onetime M’s reliever Jeff Gray that inning. Ichiro had a two-run triple.
Hernandez went eight innings, striking out nine and walking two while allowing just the one hit. He threw 107 pitches before Steve Delabar replaced him in the ninth.
Losing streak over at seven games.
