Dustin Ackley, Carlos Peguero, Mike Carp and company hope to get bats going against Royals

We’ve got the lineups out and a bunch of Mariners needing some hits are still in it. The M’s will send four sub-.200 hitters up to the plate in the starting nine and it’s only fitting that the Kansas City Royals will be throwing some guy named “Mendoza” at them from the mound.
That’s starting pitcher Luis Mendoza.
The Mendoza liners for the M’s are Miguel Olivo (.198), Brendan Ryan (.188), Carlos Peguero (.161) and Mike Carp (.146).
But the guys most struggling right now is Dustin Ackley (.220) in an 0-for-20 slump. Peguero is at 0-for-10 since taking over from Ichiro in right field. Carp is 0-for-6 since being called back up off the DL.
As I’ve mentioned before, it can take injury-rehab guys a few games to get used to MLB pitching again. So, give Carp a bit of a break this week.
But yeah, they could all use some KC pitching to help get back on track.
