Mariners use Royals pitching for batting practice once again in 6-1 win

Here’s a stat for you: the Mariners have now scored 41 runs in six games against the Royals this month. They have scored 45 runs against all other teams they’ve played in July, so yeah, Royals pitching is indeed helping out M’s hitting.
Jeremy Guthrie looked…well, like Jeremy Guthrie in the first two frames, giving up five runs and watching John Jaso drive in four of them.
Mike Carp hit a home run to go along with Jaso’s three-run shot. Brendan Ryan and Dustin Ackley had two more hits apiece.
Tough to tell whether this will last against teams other than the pitching-depleted Royals, but might as well enjoy it.
Blake Beavan allowed just a run over 6 2/3 innings and fanned six. Barely broke a sweat.
Mariners take it 6-1.
