Mariners’ lineup for Monday: Carp is out

Here it is:
Mariners (53-63)
——————————–
13 Dustin Ackley (L) 1B
55 Michael Saunders (L) CF
15 Kyle Seager (L) 2B
27 John Jaso (L) DH
63 Jesus Montero C
12 Trayvon Robinson (S) LF
10 Eric Thames (L) RF
9 Chone Figgins (S) 3B
26 Brendan Ryan SS
——————————–
49 Blake Beavan RHP
As you can see, Mike Carp is still out with a hip injury, so there’s a chain reaction of adjustments, with Dustin Ackley moving from second to first, Kyle Seager from third to second, and Chone Figgins from bench to third (after going 2-for-2 with a triple against the Angels yesterday). Casper Wells is out of the starting lineup for the third game in a row.
The Rays have won six in a row, the streak coinciding with the return of Evan Longoria to the lineup. In those six games, they’ve scored 37 runs with a .314 team average. In the 10 games before that, the Rays scored a total of 25 runs, hitting .199 as a team. With Longoria in the lineup this year, before and after his partial tear of his left hamstring (in a game against the Mariners on April 30), the Rays are scoring more than a run per game higher — 4.93 to 3.86.
