Mariners lose it 4-3 in ninth on a walkoff single by Torii Hunter

This one could be seen coming from a mile, or 10 of them, away. Hey, we’re in Anaheim, where the Mariners come to die on walkoff hits.
Tonight, it was Torii Hunter doing the honors in the ninth inning, lining a one-out single to center off Stephen Pryor to score Maicer Izturis from third.
Izturis led off the ninth with a single, took second on a wild-pitch, then third on a bunt. Mike Trout was walked intentionally, then Hunter singled to cap this 4-3 Mariners loss and keep the Angels two games back of Oakland in the wild-card race.
Hunter had singled in the seventh inning to tie the game.
The Mariners did not score after a Justin Smoak homer in the fourth.
Feix Hernandez will go more than a month between wins and this was likely the night he kissed his Cy Young chances bye-bye.
