Mariners GM Jack Zduriencik tops Angels counterpart on ‘sexiest GM’ list

“Please, please, ladies, just got the suit pressed!” Mariners GM Jack Zduriencik beats out 10 counterparts in a “sexiest GM ranking” on the Yahoo! website. Photo Credit: AP

Well, the Mariners might not have gotten the better of the Angels when it came to the Josh Hamilton bidding. And we won’t know for a while how this whole Kendrys Morales-Jason Vargas trade will work out. We’ll know more once we figure out whether the Mariners are going to ink Morales long term, flip him for a piece at the trade deadline, or make him a qualifying offer for 2014 and secure a compensatory draft pick at a minimum.

But we do know that Mariners GM Jack Zduriencik just got one over on Angels counterpart Jerry DiPoto in a Big League Stew ranking of  ”the sexiest GMs in baseball”. Zduriencik came in at No. 20, based largely on his likeness to former Chicago mayor Richard Daley (the father, not the son). DiPoto, who came in at No. 24, is a former pro ballplayer, so Zduriencik beating him out kind of says something, I guess.

I’ll have to admit, the word “sexy” never crossed my mind when conversing with Zduriencik face-to-face. Then again, it didn’t cross my mind for Billy Beane either, though I’m sure a whole bunch of women might disagree with me.

Hey, they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so if somebody thinks Zduriencik is sexier than a third of the MLB GMs out there, who am I to argue? Besides, any of you gotten a look at Ned Colletti (No. 30 on list) lately?
