Friday’s Mariner lineup vs. Texas Rangers

It’s great to be back in the desert after a few day’s respite back in Seattle. I’ll be filling in for Geoff for a few days, so most of my posts will be on the Mariners’ blog, but I’ll slip a few onto the Hot Stone League as well.

Here are today’s lineups against the Rangers. It will be the first spring start for James Paxton, one of the Mariners’ vaunted Big Three. But many people now believe it’s a Big Four, and the fourth, Brandon Maurer, will also pitch today.

Kendrys Morales makes his first start of the spring at first base. Randy Wells will start for the Rangers, followed by Neal Cotts, Evan Meek, Cory Burns, and Michael Kirkman. Meek is a former All-Star with the Pirates from Inglemoor High School in Kenmore. On Saturday Chris Capuano will start f or the Dodgers, followed by Chad Billingsley, with Brandon League slated to make an appearance. And on Sunday, the Rangers will send out Justin Grimm, followed by highly touted Martin Perez.
