Friday’s Mariners’ lineup (weather permitting) vs. Oakland
UPDATE 11:25 Arizona time): It looks like they’re going to try to play this game.
UPDATE 11:08 AM: The sun is now peaking through the clouds, and the Mariners were able to hold normal batting practice (as you can see above. That’s Jay Buhner in the stocking cap). No word yet on the status of the game.
It is raining in the Valley of the Sun, and the forecast isn’t good. But just in case, here are today’s lineups for the game in Peoria. A few days ago, I made note of the fact that Franklin Gutierrez and Dustin Ackley were in the lineup together for the first time, and Gutierrez was leading off. Well, today they’re back in the lineup together, and Ackley is leading off. Stefen Romero, coming off his two-homer, seven-RBI game, gets his second start of the spring, his first at third base. For Oakland, ex-Mariner John Jaso will catch and bat third.
