Many people have been waiting to see how the Mariners would structure their minor league rosters, given some of the depth they have at multiple positions. Well, the team just announced their affiliate rosters not too long ago and there are some surprises in store. You’ll have two infielders many had thought would be in Class AAA starting off in AA. Not to mention a couple of pitchers: one of which is a real stunner.

That one pitcher would be Hector Noesi, who opens the season in AA after starting last year off with the Mariners. Taijuan Walker will also open on the AA side along with infielders Brad Miller and Vinnie Catricala. Catcher Mike Zunino is at AAA as expected, along with pitchers Danny Hultzen and James Paxton. Oh yeah, and Chance Ruffin goes to AA, where his days as a reliever appear to be over and his time as a starter just beginning.
