Mariners lineup, April 11 vs. Texas

We’ll find out soon what is the status of Michael Saunders, but so far there’s been no announcement that he’s going on the disabled list. One big clue, however: The Mariners’ pre-game notes, under the Saunders’ entry, say that he was “placed on the 15-day DL 4/10 with sprained right AC joint (shoulder).”

We’ll also find out what the Mariners have in store for newly acquired pitcher Aaron Harang, who apparently will not be in uniform tonight. That decision, of course, will have ramifications for Blake Beavan or Brandon Maurer. Remember, Harang has not pitched an inning this season, though he pitched a full load of innings as a starter in spring training. If he’s ready to go, he could slide into Beavan’s spot in the rotation, with Beavan becoming a long man out of the bullpen. Or Beavan could go down to Triple-A and someone else could be brought up to take Kameron Loe’s spot in the bullpen. Or Maurer could be the one to go down. Lots of questions today for manager Eric Wedge.

Struggling second baseman Dustin Ackley (3-for-30) sits today against a right-handed starter, Justin Grimm.
