The Tacoma…er, Seattle, Mariners will again have a new look tonight as Class AAA addition Abraham Almonte starts in right field. Where is Franklin Gutierrez, especially coming off that big night last night? Well, this could be some regularly scheduled rest for him. You know, to keep him fresh?

Guess we’ll know more in a few moments when the clubhouse opens.

Almonte, 24, hit .314 with an OPS of .894 for AAA Tacoma. He’ll play the outfield while fellow AAA teammate Taijuan Walker also makes his MLB debut off the mound.

Former AAA additions Brad Miller and Nick Franklin are again up the middle in the infield.

Henry Blanco turned 42 yesterday and today, he gets to catch a guy literally half his age in Walker.

You don’t see that too often in baseball.
