Sights and sounds: Taijuan Walker throws a 40-pitch bullpen

Taijuan Walker threw a 4o-pitch bullpen consisting of fastballs and change-ups. He started off easy and then worked his way up in terms of effort level. He was throwing at about 85-90 percent by the end.

“It went great,” he said. “I’m very happy. My arm felt great. It was really coming out good. I was pumped.”

Here’s video from Root Sports/Mariners

Walker said he wasn’t certain of his schedule moving forward. He’d love to get into a game soon, but he isn’t quite ready for that. The logical guess would be one more bullpen session followed by a handful of live batting practice sessions and then maybe even a simulated game after that.
